What is FlexiSnake?

FlexiSnake started in central Illinois in 2006 with one idea: a slow bathroom drain is almost always hair, and hair should come up out of the drain, not be pushed further down it or dissolved. The first FlexiSnake tool was a thin flexible stick that caught the hair and came back up with it. 20 years later the same idea runs through everything we make.

The Drain Weasel

Our main product is the Drain Weasel. It has two parts. The handle is reusable and has a quick-connect end. The wand is about an eighth of an inch thick and 18 inches long, with micro-hooks molded along it. You click a wand in, feed it down the drain, turn the handle so the hooks wind the hair around them, and pull. The used wand goes in the bin with the clog on it, and the handle goes back in the drawer.

Around that tool sits the rest of the range. Refill cards bring more wands for the same handle. The Pro has heavier wands with a ribbed shaft that you rinse and reuse. The Max, the MAX Power and the PowerSnake carry longer wands, and the last two take a drill. For the kitchen we make the Slingshot strainer and lemon disposal pods.

Who it is for

Anyone who shares a shower with long hair, rents a place where calling a plumber is a favor to ask, or would rather not pour a drain chemical down a pipe for a clog that a tool can lift out. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency gives the same advice to households on a septic system: skip the chemical drain opener and reach for boiling water or a drain snake.
